Can I help...
Yes please! We need as many volunteers as possible to run this event, we need support to marshal the event on Sunday 24th August and to help clear away on the Bank Holiday Monday 25th August
Marshalling is vital to the running the event and ensure the safety of the spectators. A lot of effort goes into making our events and with your support we can continue to put on events like this for the benefit of our community.
Everyone who volunteers to help set up and run the event will be given free entry on the night. Please get in touch if you would like to join the team and make the event a success - email us at tickets@wadhurstwarriors.co.uk
Ticket pricing
Our core mission is to give back to the local community by running events and the charity’s trustees make a conscious effort to keep ticket prices as low as possible, whilst ensuring the cost of running the event is covered and events can be run in the future.
A discount is being offered to anyone who buys tickets by the end of July.
All money raised through the sale of tickets will go directly to funding the event. After the event, any surplus will be distributed back into our community via the Wadhurst Warriors Helping Hands grant or Warriors Scholarship funds. In the last 12 months the fund has provided grants to a range of worthy causes, including local schools, dramatics groups, Wild Wadhurst, learning disability support service, local rugby & football clubs and other community groups.
What ticket types are there?
There are adult and child tickets. Child tickets are for those 14 years old and under.
There is no need to purchase a ticket for babies under 2 years old.
Are babies welcome?
It’s a family friendly event and babies are more than welcome to come and enjoy the stunning grounds in the afternoon and magic of film in the evening! But please spare a thought for our other guests - if your little one becomes unsettled during the film, we would ask you to move away from the crowd for a moment to give them a chance to settle.
There is no need to purchase a ticket for babies under 2 years old.
Prams are also welcome; please mindful of other guests with the positioning of your pram to not to block anyone’s view - it might help to pick a spot closer to the edge of the viewing area.
Which film is being shown?
The most spectacular show on earth; The Greatest Showman!
Please note, the event is subject to license.
What time does the event start?
Gates open at 15:30 with the film starting at 18:00, providing time for you to enjoy some food & drink, your picnic and the beauty of the venue ahead of the film. We aim to get everybody in quickly, but safety is our number one priority - so leave yourself time to get in, grab some food, and get a good spot to watch the film.
Anyone arriving at or after 18:00 will not be permitted entry so as not to disturb the viewing of the settled crowd, as the film will have started.
Is food and drink available?
Oh yes! We have a range of food and drink options available from some incredible local businesses!!
There will be fabulous, freshly cooked pizza on sale from Pizza Cucina, a stand selling scrumptious snacks and Tea & Coffee run by the Mount Camphill Community, irresistible ice cream from Frankies Ices, along with your favourite tipples (both alcoholic and non!) from Not Just Gin and the exceptional local Lakedown Brewery with all your favourites!
Can we bring our own food or drinks?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own picnic, including alcohol, though we do ask that you take your rubbish home with you, so we can make sure we leave the beauty of Wadhurst Castle as lovely as we found it.
Are there any other stalls?
There will only be food and drink stalls.
Can I pay with card or cash?
Wherever possible our food and drink partners will accept both card and cash payments, however we cannot guarantee a particular option on the night.
Do I need to bring anything?
We recommend bringing something comfortable to sit on, blankets and/or cushions; we will have an area for people with deck chairs, though space will be limited so if you wish to bring a deck chair we recommend arriving early as places will be on a first come, first served basis. No chairs will be provided at the event.
We would also recommend brining something to keep you warm in the cooler night time air, and a waterproof in case there’s a shower. We ask that umbrellas and parasols are left at home as they will block the view for others.
We also recommend bringing a plastic bag so you can take your picnic rubbish away with you.
Can I return to my Car during the event?
Yes, pre and post the film, but we do ask that people are considerate of the other viewing whilst the film is playing.
Do you have any on-site parking?
Yes, we will have parking for up to 40 cars in the main castle grounds, with additional parking in the business park. Once full, the carparks will be closed and you will need to find alternative parking.
We ask people to park sensibly and safely at all times, and not block local houses or amenities, particularly the entrance to the fire station.
We would encourage those that live close to walk to the event, to help ease congestion.
Which entrance should I use?
Vehicle entrance: What3Words
Pedestrian entrance: What3Words
If driving, please use the main entrance to the castle, directly opposite Sparrows Green Road.
If walking, please enter via the marshalled crossing at the Castle Keep business park.
Are dogs allowed at the event?
Not to this event, so viewing and picnics are not disturbed.
Are there toilets on-site?
Yes, there will be portaloo toilets available, including one accessible toilet.
Is the site accessible for wheelchairs?
The event is being held on grass and farmland in the grounds of Wadhurst Castle, which may not be suitable for all types of wheelchairs.
Waste & recycling
We will be supplying bins on site and these will be clearly marked out with brightly coloured signage. Our chosen waste contractor sorts the rubbish and recycles wherever possible.
Why are ticket sales only online?
Online ticket sales mean less paper, safer and faster queues at the event. Please ensure you have your QR code for your ticket downloaded on your mobile device prior to attending the event (or printed it out if you prefer) to keep the entrance process quick and easy for all.
Will there be any fireworks?
Although fireworks and pyrotechnics are a staple of Warriors events both past and present, there will NOT be any fireworks or surprises.
What happens if the event is cancelled?
While we always aim to put on the event as planned, our priority is always the health and safety of our community. For example, in previous years we have been forced to cancel the event due to bad weather.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for more details on event cancellation
