Wadhurst Bonfire & Fireworks 2024

20 August 2024

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I help...

Yes please! We need as many volunteers as possible to run this event, we need support from helping building the fire in the weekends leading up to the event, setting up the site on Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd during the day and the big clean up on Sunday 3rd November.

We also need help on the Saturday evening, particularly marshals to help control the event and ensuring the safety of the spectators. A lot of effort goes into making this event and with your support we can continue to put on events like this fort the benefit of our community.

Everyone who volunteers to help set up and run the event will be given free entry on the night. Please get in touch if you would like to join the team and make the event a success - email us at tickets@wadhurstwarriors.co.uk

Ticket pricing

Our core mission is to give back to the local community by running events such as the Wadhurst Fireworks and each year the charity‚ trustees make a conscious effort to keep ticket prices as low as possible. The cost of running the event has increased significantly since 2020 and as a result ticket prices have also increased. This is to ensure that it is possible to hold the event and to continue to run the event in future years.

A 10% discount is being offered to anyone who buys tickets more than 2-weeks before the date of the event.

All money raised through the sale of tickets will go directly to funding the event. After the event, any surplus will be distributed back into our community via the Wadhurst Warriors Helping Hands grant or Warriors Scholarship funds. In the last 12 months the fund has provided grants to the a range of worthy causes, including local schools, dramatics groups, Wild Wadhurst, learning disability support service,

What time does the event start?

Gates open at 17:30 and the bonfire is lit at approximately 18:30. We aim to get everybody in quickly, but safety is our number one priority - so leave yourself time to get in, grab some food and get a good view of the fire.

What time are the fireworks fired?

Approximately 19:30. We will close the gates 10 minutes prior to the fireworks being fired.

Is food and drink available?

Oh yes! We’ll be running the fantastic Warriors BBQ and this year there will also be other food vendors offering an array of different snacks and treats to see you through the night.

Alongside our traditional Bar serving a wide range of alcoholic including our mulled wine and soft drinks, we’re planning to offer alternatives too!

Can we bring our own food or drinks?

Bringing alcohol into the event is strictly prohibited and there will be bag searches on the gate at the discretion of the marshals. We encourage everybody to use the on-site catering, as the proceeds from these stalls are what makes the event possible.

Are there any other stalls?

As always, the Glow Stall will be selling goodies to brighten up the night!

Do you allow sparklers?

No. Sparklers are not allowed at the event - we are not covered by our insurance and are unable to facilitate their safe use. More importantly, the field we use is a grazing field for animals. Sparklers discarded on the ground can be very harmful to the livestock. We know this may be disappointing for some, but we do offer alternatives such as the Warriors famous glow stall instead!

Can I pay with card or cash?

Both card and cash payments will be accepted throughout the event.

Do I need to bring anything?

Warm jumpers and jackets are a must, wellies are a good idea and a torch can be useful to help you find your way home after the event!

Do you have any on-site parking?

There is no parking available on site. We advise all guests to walk to the event if possible. The area leading to the entrance must be kept traffic free to allow safe entry / exit to the site.

Are dogs allowed at the event?

No. It’s too loud and potentially frightening for dogs.

Are there toilets on-site?

Yes, there will be portaloo toilets and men’s urinals available.

Is the site accessible for wheelchairs?

Yes, limited help can be provided at the gate for assisted entry to and from the site. Please remember that the event is held on farmland, which may not be suitable for all types of wheelchairs.

Waste & recycling

We will be supplying bins on site and these will be clearly marked out with brightly coloured signage. Our chosen waste contractor sorts the rubbish and recycles wherever possible.

Why are ticket sales primarily online?

Online ticket sales mean less paper, safer and faster queues on the night. Please ensure you have your QR code for your ticket downloaded on your mobile device prior to attending the event (or printed it out if you prefer) to keep the entrance process quick and easy for all.

If you need some help buying your tickets online pop into Burnetts on the High Street, where Andrew and the team will be pleased to help you complete your purchase.

Are paper tickets still available?

A limited number of paper tickets will be available from Carillon Cottage on the High Street from mid-September.

What happens if the event is cancelled?

While we always aim to put on the event as planned, our priority is always the health and safety of our community. For example, in previous years we have been forced to cancel the event due to bad weather.

Please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for more details on event cancellation
